01 / ABOUT THE PLACE

About this place

The draw at Sousaku Udon Itteki Hassenya lies in thick udon noodles with substantial spring and firm bite, served in a variety of inventive preparations. From classic bukkake udon to seasonal limited-edition bowls and signature niku udon, the menu offers plenty of reasons to try something different on each visit.

Signature Shiro Niku, Kuro Niku, and Creative Udon Variations

Standing out prominently on the menu are two signature bowls: Shiro Niku Udon and Kuro Niku Udon. Shiro Niku Udon pairs a mellow, rich broth accented with ginger against the robust, thick noodles for a well-balanced bowl. Diners can also add depth and aroma with house-seasoned oils, including a green sansho oil made with green Japanese pepper sourced from around Kochi's Niyodo River, and a fragrant shrimp oil simmered from sweet shrimp heads.

Evenings with Kuro Oden, Small Plates, and Drinks

Come dinnertime, the menu expands with an array of small dishes, highlighted by the evening-only Shikoku Kuro Oden 5-Piece Assortment. The oden simmers in an ink-dark broth brewed from beef tendon and chicken bones, making an ideal accompaniment for an unhurried glass of beer, wine, or sake. A half-portion of udon is also available, providing a thoughtful way to finish a meal after drinks.

The dining space features both counter and table seating, making it convenient whether you are stopping by alone for a quick workday lunch or gathering for a relaxed evening meal. Reservations are accepted for dinner, offering peace of mind if you plan to visit specifically for the signature kuro oden and udon.
